WILMINGTON, Ohio — Police in southwest Ohio say an Indiana man has been killed after he lost control of his car during a high-speed chase by police.

Wilmington police say 46-year-old Joseph Noble of Fort Wayne died at the scene Monday night. Police tell the News Journal of Wilmington that Noble's Honda Civic was going 50 mph in a 25 mph zone in the city on Monday evening. That led to an attempted roadblock and the chase. Police say Noble's vehicle ran multiple vehicles off the road.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol says Noble tried to avoid stop sticks placed on Ohio Route 73 and crashed into two other cars. One other driver received hospital treatment for injuries described as not life-threatening.

The Highway Patrol is investigating. Alcohol is considered a possible factor.
