The opening of the reconstructed Spring Street Bridge near the University of Saint Francis has been pushed back to Oct. 5.
According to the Allen County Highway Department, the delay will allow Primco to make changes that will allow sidewalks to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act. The changes will cost $36,000 but the project is still expected to be completed below Primco's $2.27 million bid. The federal government is funding 80 percent of the project, which also includes improvements to Spring Street and a traffic signal at Leesburg Road and Spring.
