A shooting Wednesday at a southeast Fort Wayne apartment complex allegedly left a man with wounds to his shoulder and hand, police said.
According to a police report, a man came to St. Joseph Hospital downtown just after 11 p.m. and claimed that another man had randomly started shooting at him at the South Bridge apartment complex, off South Hanna Street and Tillman Road.
The alleged victim told police he was at the apartments with his cousin and was “just walking around” when another man started shooting at him, striking him in the shoulder and hand, the report said.
The man said two cousins helped him into a car and took him to the hospital. The report gave no indication of where the alleged shooter went.
The alleged victim told police he did not know why the other man would shoot at him and that he “does not have any enemies,” the report said.
In an interview with police, the alleged victim's cousin said he was sitting outside the apartment building when he heard a shot. The alleged victim then ran outside claiming he had been shot, the cousin said, according to the report.
