City’s debris pickup finished; citations to start

Saturday, September 8, 2012 - 9:34 am

The city of Fort Wayne completed curbside pickup of debris from June 29’s wind storm last week, and it will start citing owners who don’t have debris removed from their property.

Beginning Sept. 24, Neighborhood Code Enforcement will be providing notices to owners whose properties still contain debris. If debris is not removed by the time the 10-day notice expires an NCE contractor will remove the debris and the property owner will be billed for the work.

Residents can take storm debris to the city’s biosolids facility, 6210 Lake Ave., 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Saturday and noon-6 p.m. Sunday. A small fee is collected based on weight.
