Bishop Luers High School football coach Matt Lindsay will be taking a leave of absence for personal reasons.
Lindsay confirmed to The News-Sentinel the decision Thursday, but did not want to publicly reveal the reason. His son, Kyle Lindsay, will immediately take over as interim head coach. Kyle Lindsay has worked the last few years as offensive coordinator.
“Kyle will be ably assisted by my long-time coaches, including coach (Lew) Goodwin and Mike Egts,” Matt Lindsay said. “The Knights will be fine.”
Lindsay is in his 26th season as the Luers coach, and has a coaching record of 229-99 with nine state championships, including the last three seasons in a row.
Bishop Luers (2-2) and will play at home against Wayne (1-3) on Friday night.
