Oct. 9 is the final day to register to vote or make changes to existing voter registration records for the Nov. 6 general election in Indiana. As a result, the Allen County Voter Registration office will extend business hours on that day from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Registrations can be made in person at the office, One West Superior Street, Suite 111 (at the corner of Calhoun and Superior streets) from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. Online registrations must be submitted to www.indianavoters.com by 11:59 p.m. on Oct. 9.
All mail-in registrations must be postmarked no later than Oct. 9 to be processed for the 2012 election. All new registrations received by mail must include documentation verifying voter name and address. If these documents do not accompany the registration, the voter will be asked to present them at their polling location prior to voting.
All registrations must comply with the Help America Vote Act (HAVA) and include questions about citizenship and voting age. Forms lacking these completed questions cannot be processed.
For absentee ballots, call the Election Board at 449-7329.
