Oral cancer screenings offered

Oral Cancer Screenings will be 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Parkview Specialty Clinic, Suite 208, Parkview Comprehensive Cancer Center, 11143 Parkview Plaza Drive. Providers will be Dr. J. Terrence O'Neill, Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Associates; Dr. Michael Tom, DDS; and Dr. Randy Vollmer, DDS. Appointments are recommended by Wednesday. The screenings are free.

Assistive listening webinar

Assistive Listening Systems Webinar will be 2:30-4 p.m. Thursday . The session will review the requirements for assistive listening systems (ALS) in the 2010 ADA Standards and the Architectural Barriers Act Accessibility Standards. The webinar is free, however, registration is required.

Learn sign language

The fall American Sign Language Class – Level 1 will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday -Nov. 29 at Parkview Ortho Hospital on the Parkview North Campus, 11119 Parkview Plaza Drive, Entrance 7. The class will be offered by Deaflink. Cost will be $50.

Health fair and veterans event planned

The 22nd annual Health Cities Health Fair and 16th annual Veterans' Stand Down will be 7:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Oct. 12 at Matthew 25 Health and Dental Clinic, 413 E. Jefferson St. A coat giveaway is part of this annual event.

New and “gently” used coats can be dropped off at: Wayne Township Trustee's Office, 320 E. Superior St.; Allen County Public Library, 900 Library Plaza; Starbucks Coffee locations, 3906 E. State Blvd.; 5723 Coventry Lane; 10030 Lima Road (Corner of Dupont and Lima) and 502 W. Jefferson (downtown); Parkview Health & Fitness Center, 3000 E. State Blvd.; Fort Wayne Radiology, 3707 New Vision Drive; Graybar Electric Company, 5425 Distribution Drive; and Open View MRI, 10202-A Coldwater Road. Donations of 10 or more coats can be picked up. Francine Friends fundraiser

The 2012 Lunch with Friends fundraiser for Francine's Friends mobile mammography will be 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Oct. 12 at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum, 4000 Parnell Ave. Co-hosts will be Linda Jackson, Indiana's NewsCenter, and Robyn Scott and Colleen Murray, Chicago's Second City Improv group. Speaker will be Dr. Adeline Deladisma, 2011-2012 AAMC Breast Cancer Fellow breast surgeon, Indiana Surgical Specialists. Meet eight breast cancer survivors.

WBCL Radio Network, 90.3-FM in Fort Wayne, and The Summit Family Health and Wellness Day will be noon-2:30 p.m. Oct. 13 at 1025 W. Rudisill Blvd. Speaker will be Dr. Ann Kulze, a featured guest on "The Dr. Oz Show." Health and wellness vendors, health screenings and informative, interactive mini sessions will be available.
