WASHINGTON – Amtrak says it has partially restored service between Washington and Wilmington, Del., following a power outage that briefly closed a section of the main rail line between New York and the nation’s capital.

The rail service said one track had been reopened and was operating at regular speed Tuesday morning. It was not clear when further repair work would be completed. The service disruption was caused by downed wires south of Aberdeen, Md.

The New York Yankees said they canceled practice at Yankee Stadium on Tuesday due to train cancelations between Baltimore and New York. The Yankees were in Baltimore on Monday to play the Orioles.
