Stutzman, Boyd to debate Oct. 19 at IPFW

Tuesday, October 9, 2012 - 6:29 pm

Rep. Marlin Stutzman, R-3rd, and his Democratic challenger, Kevin Boyd, will face off in a televised debate Oct. 19 at IPFW, according to a news release from IPFW’s Mike Downs Center for Indiana Politics and WFWA, Ch. 39.

The debate between the U.S. House candidates will begin at 7 p.m. in the recital hall at IPFW’s Rhinehart Music Center. It will be shown live on WFWA and will also be open to the public on a first-come, first-seated basis. The doors will open at 6 p.m. and close at 6:45 for the duration of the debate.

The debate will be split into three parts, according to the release – two rounds of questions, followed by closing statements. In the first round, a moderator will ask one candidate a question, and the other candidate will be able to ask a follow-up question. The second round will consist of more-specific questions from the moderator to clarify the candidates' previous statements made in the debate or during the campaign.

The debate is being sponsored by WFWA and the Downs Center.
