WHITELAND — Morning commuters faced long delays on Interstate 65 south of Indianapolis after a crash in which authorities say one person was killed.
The crash happened about 4:30 a.m. Tuesday about a mile north of the I-65 interchange near the Johnson County town of Whiteland, causing police to close the northbound lanes and divert traffic off the highway.
Johnson County Sheriff Doug Cox tells WTHR-TV that the crash involved one vehicle that left the highway and rolled several times. Cox says a semitrailer driver following the vehicle saw it swerving before the crash happened.
The identity of the person killed wasn't immediately released.
