The Komets released goaltenders Gerry Festa, Francois Lacerte and Larkin Saalfrank, defenseman Nicolas Thommen and forward Linus Werneman on Monday.

That leaves the team with 11 forwards, eight defensemen and two goaltenders, plus they are expecting more players to be assigned from Norfolk of the American Hockey League. The ECHL roster deadline is 3 p.m. Wednesday. Previously the league had announced it as 3 p.m. Thursday.

Each team can have 20 players on the active roster along with two reserve players. Players can also be played on a 21-day injured reserve list.
