University of Saint Francis is opening its Edwin Clark Schouweiler Memorial Planetarium this weekend for three shows.
The first show, “Aurora,” is for Grade 5 and older, and begins at 7:30 p.m. It teaches about the aurora borealis.
The second show, “A Solar System Adventure Tour,” for grades 2-4 and adults, provides an interactive tour of the solar system, and begins at 3 p.m.
The last show, “The Explorers of Polynesia,” for Grade 5 and older, allows visitors to navigate the stars by sailing the South Pacific.
Admission is $4 for adults, $3 for seniors and under age 18 and $14 family maximum (two adults and dependent children).
A Renaissance in Roanoke Arts Festival features 50 juried artists and their works, Plein Air, children's art activities, a farmers market and live entertainment.
Hours are 10 a.m.-6 p.m. on Main Street in Roanoke.
Proceeds from an auction of two large canvasses will go to the youth art scholarship fund.
