Motorcyclist dies of injuries from I-69 crash

Friday, October 12, 2012 - 7:34 am

A 60-year-old Arkansas man died Thursday of injuries he sustained in August when his motorcycle crashed along Interstate 69 in Allen County.

Glenn R. Howerton, of Eureka Springs, was pronounced dead at about 9:21 a.m. at Lutheran Hospital, according to the Allen County Coroner's Office. Howerton's motorcycle wrecked Aug. 29 near the 315 mile marker of I-69.

Howerton, who was not wearing a helmet, was initially taken to Parkview Regional Medical Center and later transferred to a rehabilitation center. He was admitted to Lutheran after having complications from his injuries, the coroner's office said in a statement.

Howerton's death marks Allen County's 31st traffic fatality of 2012.
