Actors and the crew for the short film "The Perfect Find" will be shooting scenes this weekend in Fort Wayne.Filming started Thursday and continues through Sunday, said a news release received this afternoon.

The filming Saturday will take place from about 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Travis Auto Service, 6925 St Joe Road, the news release said. The filming Sunday mainly will involve driving scenes shot along Smith and Yohne roads in southwest Fort Wayne.

Fort Wayne filmmakers John Hartman and Ty Black of Bokeh Film and Video are serving as the film’s director and director of photography, respectively, the news release said.

The film, written by screenwriter Philip Edward Dawkins of Chicago, stars actors from Fort Wayne and Chicago, the news release said.

Rebekah Ward, a former Fort Wayne resident who now is a Chicago-based actress, developed the concept for the film, the news release said.

Ward, who plays the film's female lead, has won awards for her stage work in Chicago, recently filmed several national commercials and appeared on the pilot episode of NBC’s new TV drama "Chicago Fire," the news release said.

The male lead is played by Andrew Carter, who also is based in Chicago, the news release said. He has appeared in national commercials and in several episodes of the STARZ network show "Boss."

After its completion, the film will be entered in film festival judging throughout the United States, the news release said. The production team also is checking into offering screenings of the film in both Fort Wayne and Chicago.
