Spencer was one of four Mastodons with double-digit kills in the conference victory. Middle attacker Jessie Manwaring had 14 kills, while outside attacker Kendall Wienkes had 13 kills and outside attacker Hailie Ripley added 11 kills.

IPFW (20-4, 9-2 Summit League) out-hit South Dakota .211 to .180, including holding South Dakota to a .077 attack percentage in the decisive fifth game.

Libero Tessa McGill also had a season-high 30 digs against South Dakota (9-14, 3-8 Summit League).
