Miles helps team upset ranked Toledo

Tuesday, November 13, 2012 - 7:39 am

Ball State claimed one of its biggest football victories in recent history recently, as the Cardinals upended 25th-ranked Toledo at the Glass Bowl. A key component of that victory was the improved play of the Cardinal defensive unit and one of its most productive players was recognized for his exploits on Monday by the Mid-American Conference.

Ball State defensive end Nick Miles was named as the MAC West Division Defensive Player of the Week.

The sophomore led Ball State's defense with 11 total tackles and one sack in the Cardinals 34-27 win.

Miles was a key part of the defense that forced two three-and-outs and two turnovers on downs on Toledo's six second-half possessions.

The Cardinals will host Ohio on Wednesday at 8 p.m.
