I grieve for our country and where it is headed in the next four years and beyond.
Why has consideration not been given to replacing the 733 pages Income Tax Code with a 5 percent federal sales tax or an added-value tax? Would it not increase the tax base and be fair to so-called rich and/or poor? If a person wanted a $100,000 car, that person would pay $5,000 in tax. If a person wanted to buy a $20,000 car, that person would pay $1,000 as tax.
To the ranter who wants to cut the military budget because his three retired friends get pensions: … When you swear in, you offer yourself up for whatever Uncle Sam wants to do with you. Staying in the U.S. was not their option. I spent eight years, two of them in Asia. I never begrudged guys who stayed stateside … .
To the third-grade teacher and to the students not doing homework: Maybe an incentive for parents and the students would be to inform them the students will repeat the third grade until homework is done on time and with a passing percentage.

After President Obama's re-election, Donald Trump's election-night tweets trying to foment a revolution in the United States are the final-nail-in-the-coffin verdict for his relevance: He is a childish, buffoonish, crybaby blowhard who deserves no one's attention any longer!
Why is Grover Norquist more important to the Republicans in Washington than the American people are? He is nothing but a lobbyist, for cripes sake. What Republican is going to grow a spine and tell him to go back in his hole? None. They are too weak.
The GOP hierarchy supports moderate candidates not outspoken on sensitive issues. Ron Paul, as candidate, might also have lost, but major issues would have been more clearly debated. Liberty's mantle was proclaimed and cheered by students. Romney could have enlisted their support by a convention invite for him to speak.
If there is any money left from the presidential campaign, it should all go to the East Coast to help those who lost everything, or how about the food banks and shelters? I bet that will never happen.
It will be hard for students to relate to other human beings since all their time is spent on electronic devices.
I'm outraged at the treatment that my granddaughter is receiving at … (a local middle school). There is a serious bullying issue. I thought school was a safe place for children to go, but I see that I am wrong. … It's sad that I feel that I have to chaperone my granddaughter to school and stay there with her so she is safe.
Corporate media eagerly jumped on Mitt Romney's 47 percent remark. They deliberately ignored his following statement because it made any further campaign coverage meaningless.
