News-Sentinel high school football postseason recap coming to Public Access TV

Tuesday, November 20, 2012 - 12:01 am

As Snider and Bishop Luers prepare to play in the state championship games, The News-Sentinel will recap the high school football postseason with a 20-minute television show airing on Fort Wayne Public Access later this week.

The News-Sentinel's Road to Indianapolis Postseason Recap Show will be televised at 10 a.m. Wednesday on Comcast channel 57 and Frontier channel 27.

The show will consist of video highlights from the top Fort Wayne area games from each week during the first five rounds of the IHSAA state tournament. In addition, News-Sentinel sports multimedia reporter Vinnie Lopes will serve as the on-air host for this recap show.

The News-Sentinel has placed an emphasis on expanding its online coverage throughout the high school football regular season and postseason. Among the new online initiatives the newspaper offered its readers this season included online video highlights each week from The News-Sentinel Game of the Week.

The Road to Indianapolis Postseason Recap Show will also be available for readers to watch on the newspaper's website, news-sentinel.com, after the show airs on Public Access.

This is the second show produced by The News-Sentinel sports department that will air on Public Access. The News-Sentinel High School Football Regular Season Recap Show aired in October and had a similar format to this upcoming postseason recap show.

The IHSAA state tournament will conclude this weekend with Bishop Luers playing Cardinal Ritter in the Class 2A state finals on Friday and Snider playing Lawrence Central in the Class 5A state finals on Saturday.
