Both Purdue and Butler men’s basketball programs will be logging frequent-flyer miles over the next few seasons.
The Boilermakers announced earlier this week that they would be playing in a tournament in Hawaii during the early portion of the 2014-15 season, and today released that they will be one of eight teams to compete in the 2013 Old Spice Classic, set for Nov. 28-Dec. 1 at the HP Field House at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex near Orlando.
Joining Purdue will be the Bulldogs, who are coming off a runner-up finish in the Maui Invitational this week. Other teams in the Disney event are LSU, Memphis, Oklahoma State, Saint Joseph’s, Siena and Washington State.
The Old Spice Classsic features a bracket format with 12 games over a three-day period. Each team competes in one game per day, advancing through the bracket. The two teams that remain undefeated throughout face off in a championship game on the final day of competition.
