BLOOMINGTON – Indiana flexed its top-ranked muscle and Ball State blinked.
Repeatedly.
The Hoosiers (6-0) rolled to a 101-53 victory Sunday night, ensuring there would be no let down for Tuesday night's Big Ten/ACC Challenge showdown with No. 9 North Carolina (5-1).
Will Sheehey came off the bench to score a season-high 19 points. Jordan Hulls had 17, Cody Zeller had 15, Victor Oladipo had 1 and Christian Watford had 11 points and 10 rebounds.
Ball State (2-2) was led by forward Majok Majok's 18 points .
IU had its typical slow start. It led just 10-8 after six minutes. Sheehey provided an off-the-bench spark with five straight points as the Hoosiers pushed ahead 21-10.
And then the Hoosiers really took charge. Maurice Creek and Hulls didn't miss a shot. Sheehey missed one. When the half was over, IU led 50-19, shooting 64.7 percent from the field to Ball State's 20.0.
IU didn't let up in the second half and cruised to its biggest scoring output of the season. As a reward for breaking 100 points, the first 100 fans who brought a valid game ticket to Qdoba in Bloomington got free food.
