Fort Wayne woman wins national recipe contest

Fort Wayne resident Susan Sirois' Hurry Curry Scampi Pizza recipe was named Grand Prize Winner in the Tandoor Chef None Other Naan Pizza Recipe Contest.Sirois wins free Tandoor Chef products for a year, a news release said. The contest took place from Oct. 1-31, the news release said. Entrants were asked to submit an original naan pizza recipe using any variety of Tandoor Chef’s naan, a flatbread eaten in India and some other Asian countries.

Entries were judged "based on the pizza’s flavor, appeal and creative use of naan," the news release said. Sirois’ recipe "blends Italian and Indian profiles for a unique appeal."1/2 cup salad shrimp

1/2 cup red onion slices

3 tablespoons vegetable oil

2 tablespoons turmeric

1/2 teaspoon cumin

2 tablespoons cinnamon

1/4 cup fresh baby spinach

1 red chili pepper, diced

1 Tandoor Chef Naan (Garlic)

2 tablespoons paneer cheese

1/4 cup Parmesan cheese

Preheat oven to 325 degrees.

Add three tablespoons of vegetable oil to large skillet. Mix all ingredients except paneer cheese and sauté 4-5 minutes. Top naan with cooked ingredients.

Add paneer cheese and bake at 325 degrees until cheese bubbles (about 5 minutes). Sprinkle with Parmesan and enjoy.
