An employee said he went to break up a fight between two men in the club when one pulled out a chrome handgun and fired two rounds toward the other, according to a separate report.A man told police that someone with a gun forced his way into a home and stole several items.
The man said he was inside a home at 8:12 p.m. Saturday in the 4300 block of Gaywood Drive when he heard a knock on the door, according to a Fort Wayne Police Department report. He told police he opened it to find a man, about 18-22 years old, holding open the screen door and displaying a handgun. The gunman then ordered the victim onto a couch and grabbed a Sony PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, remote controllers and video games. He told the victim, "What, you think I'm gonna shoot you?" and racked the slide of the handgun, according to the report. A .380 round ejected from the gun was recovered by police.
The gunman was described as a skinny black male, about 5 foot 6 or 7 inches, wearing a large black hoodie with red on it, a shiny design on the front of his sweater and a red-and-black thick winter knit hat.Four women said they were robbed by two men early Sunday morning.
The women told police they were approached on the passenger-side of their vehicle by a man who asked if they had a gas can at around 12:40 a.m. behind the American Legion, 705 E. Lewis St., according to a Fort Wayne Police report. While they talked to him, a second man opened the driver's side door and pointed a black handgun at them, at which time the first man drew out a gray-colored handgun, according to the report. The second man ordered the victims to give him their purses or they would be shot, according to the report.A man and his son said they were robbed while trying to buy a cell phone they found on Craigslist.
A man told police they were buying the iPhone 4 from a person they didn't know who wouldn't provide an address, just street names to meet at, according to a Fort Wayne Police report. They met at Woodbrook and Garden Park Drive and the subject got into their van, pulled out a black semi-automatic handgun and told them to give him their cell phones and money, according to the report. One victim gave him $360 and a cell phone and another handed over $200 and a prepaid cell phone, according to the report. One victim didn't know his address or the name of the company he worked for because it was a "mobile construction company," according to the report.A woman told police that money was missing from her pants pocket after she fell asleep while an acquaintance was at her home.
The woman told police at 8:14 a.m. Saturday that she and her roommate arrived at their Sherwood Terrace home after spending time at a club when a friend came over, according to a Fort Wayne Police Department report. The woman said she fell asleep and was awakened at 8 a.m. when the friend was leaving and told her to lock the door behind him. She said she had a bad feeling and discovered $330 was gone from the pocket of a pair of pants, according to police. She said she ran after the friend, found him near Senate Avenue and demanded the money back, but he swung at her, according to the report. He ran off, she said.
She took police to his mother's house but the woman said he wasn't there and he lived with his father, though she didn't know the address or how to contact him, according to the report.
The victim said the friend had a handgun when he was at her house but he did not threaten her with it.A child told police that his father would record fights between the boy and his cousin, according to a Fort Wayne Police report.
A woman took her son, age 3 or 4, to the police station, 1 E. Main St., and showed officers a small bruise under the boy's left eye. The woman said he got the injury while visiting his father Sunday when he was fighting with his cousin. The officer said he asked the boy if he wanted to fight and he responded yes, and said his father recorded them, according to the report.
The investigator took photos and said they would be forwarded to the state Department of Child Services.The Fort Wayne Police department received the following reports of thefts from vehicles early Monday morning:
*A Ranger truck in the 3500 block of Naquaga Drive, had a broken out back window and passenger side window and the door lock on the passenger side was punched out. Stolen were a Winchester 1400 automatic, 12-guage shotgun; hunting backpack, range finder, spotting scope, three boxes of ammunition and a Tom Tom GPS, all valued at about $1,345. The theft might have occurred sometime between 11:30 p.m. Sunday and 5 a.m. Monday.
*A Chevy Malibu had a small rear passenger-side window broken and the passenger-side front window was cracked sometime overnight before 6:44 a.m. Monday in the 3600 block of Whetstone Lane. A purse with a wallet, credit cards, makeup back and gift cards was taken.
*A wallet was taken from an unlocked Pontiac Bonneville in the 7900 Serenity Drive sometime between 8 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Monday.
*Two Red Box movies, "Prometheus" and "Madagascar," were stolen from an unlocked Chevy Venture in the 6720 Chickasaw Drive.The Fort Wayne Police Department received reports of the following burglary attempts at businesses:
*A large front window was broken out of the south side of the Athenian restaurant, 1020 Coliseum Blvd. West, sometime between 3:30 p.m. Sunday and 6:12 a.m. Monday. A large rock was thrown through the window. It did not appear that anyone got inside the restaurant.
*A side window was broken out with a chair left beside it at All Occasion Party Rental, 4620 Speedway Drive, sometime between 1 p.m. Sunday and 6:58 a.m. Monday. At the time of the report, only loose change was found missing from two cash registers. Blood was found on the broken glass.A water heater, stove and copper pipe were stolen between Friday evening at 2:30 p.m. Monday from an empty home in the 4000 block of Gaywood Drive.
