Credit union robbery reported; schools on lockdown

Fort Wayne Police were called to a report of an armed robbery by three men at ProFed, 6448 Stellhorn Road, at around 8:15 a.m., according to scanner traffic. The credit union's drive-through opened at 8 a.m., but the lobby was not to open until 8:30 a.m., according to the company's website.

Snider High School and Jefferson Middle School were put on lockdown as a safety precaution, said Fort Wayne Community Schools spokeswoman Krista Stockman. Snider was on lockdown for 15-20 minutes and Jefferson was still on lockdown as of this report. Other FWCS schools in the area were notified to be on alert, Stockman said.
