Tis the season for Christmas specials, and tonight is no exception. “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” airs at 8 p.m. on CBS.
Will Farrell appears in “Elf,” also at 8 p.m. today, but on ABC Family. This 2003 movie also features James Caan, Bob Newhart and Ed Asner.
“Mickey's Twice Upon a Christmas” airs at 7:30 p.m. today on DisneyXD. This special is a sequel to 1999's “Mickey's Once Upon a Christmas.”
The Hallmark Channel will show the 2009 movie “The Dog Who Saved Christmas” at 8 p.m. today. An inept guard dog successfully protects his new owners' home from thieves while the owners are away.
Holiday movies continue Wednesday with “Home Alone” at 7 p.m. on ABC Family. This classic film features Macaulay Culkin (hard to believe he is 32 years old) as a little kid left behind in his home by his vacationing family.
Right after this film, ABC Family also airs another classic tale. “The Polar Express,” with Tom Hanks as the train conductor (his voice anyway), at 9 p.m.
The evening turns to the dogs as “Beethoven's Christmas Adventure” airs at 8 p.m. on Disney. This 2011 movie features Tom Arnold as the voice of the lovable St. Bernard as he tries to track down lost presents and help an misplaced elf.
The Hallmark Channel shows another holiday movie, “Naughty or Nice,” at 8 p.m., in which a woman receives Santa's “Naughty or Nice” book and exposes some very bad deeds of the people around her.
