RediMed announced Friday that urgent care clinics are again offering the influenza vaccine. Flu shots are available for anyone age 4 and older through RediMed's urgent care clinics while supplies last. Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

The four RediMeds across northeastern Indiana are distributing seasonal flu shots on a first-come, first-served basis. Appointments are not necessary. The cost of a flu shot is $25 per injection and may be billed to the recipient's insurance.

A limited supply of flu shots for children ages 6 months to 3 years are also available while supplies last. Parents interested in taking advantage of this opportunity are asked to call the nearest RediMed to inquire about the availability of these shots.

RediMed also has pneumonia shots available for $87 per injection, which may also be billed to the recipient's insurance.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, seasonal flu leads to approximately 220,000 hospitalizations and between 25,000 and 36,000 deaths each year in the U.S.
