1 dead, 1 'critical' after shootings in Fort Wayne

Saturday, December 8, 2012 - 7:32 am

One man is dead and another is in a hospital in critical condition after they were shot Friday night, according to the Fort Wayne Police Department.

Officers of the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to a call of a possible shooting at 9:32 p.m. near the intersection of Hanna and Milton streets. Officers found a green Oldsmobile that was parked facing westbound on Milton with two men inside. Both appeared to have suffered gunshot wounds, according to FWPD spokesman Sgt. Mark Brooks.

One of the victims was pronounced dead at the scene. The other was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.

Witnesses reported seeing a male subject get out of the rear of the vehicle and flee northbound on foot.

Police have no additional information about the subject at this time, Brook said.

The dead man's name is expected to be released by the Allen County Coroner's Office after an autopsy.

The Fort Wayne Fire Department and Allen County Prosecutor's Office assisted in the investigation.
