A Greater Fort Wayne Crime Stoppers tip helped led Fort Wayne Police to an arrest Tuesday in connection with the Nov. 20 robbery of a northeast-side bank.
Dajuan C. Cooper, 20, of Fort Wayne, is charged with a single count of robbery for allegedly holding up the Chase Bank at 6704 E. State Blvd., police spokeswoman Officer Raquel Foster said in a statement.
Police located Cooper and served an arrest warrant Tuesday after bank robbery detectives received information through Crime Stoppers, Foster said. Cooper was being held in the Allen County Jail.
Police have said a man came into the Chase Bank on the morning of Nov. 20 and handed the teller a note that demanded money. The robber, who was photographed by a surveillance camera, then fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash, police said.
The robbery was one of several unsolved bank and credit union robberies – some of them involving armed robbers – since November.
