The Fort Wayne Fire Department is investigating the cause of a fire to a vacant duplex early Tuesday morning.
Firefighters responded to a report of a structure fire at 829 Wilt St. The
first engine arrived in 2 minutes because firefighters were nearby checking on smoke in the area when the full alarm was sent, according to a news release. The structure was a two-story duplex with fire showing from the back and smoke
coming from the second floor. The fire was confined to a bathroom and dining
room. No injuries were reported and the fire was under control in 16 minutes, according to the report. The home had minor fire and water damage and moderate damage caused by smoke.
