U.S. 27 near County Road 400 S, north of Berne, was reopened after being closed for an hour Wednesday morning after a head-on collision.According to Indiana State Police Master Trooper Kurt Jack, at around 10:45 a.m. a 2000 Oldsmobile driven by 22-year-old Jacqueline P. Curtis, of Bryant, was traveling south on US 27, near County Road 400 S. As a result of her speed, she lost control of her vehicle on the snow-covered road and went left of center; her vehicle collided head-on with a northbound 1999 GMC truck driven by 22-year-old Angela M. Price, of Decatur, according to an ISP news release.

Curtis and one of her passengers, Nicholas F. Mata, 27, of Decatur, were taken to Adams Memorial for complaints of pain while a second passenger, Adam W. Hough, 23, of Portland, was taken to the same hospital for a possible fracture, according to the release.

Price and her two passengers, Jemson Price, 4, and Jaxton Price, 1, were all taken to Adams Memorial for complaints of pain. All five occupants of the two vehicles were properly restrained at the time, which limited the severity of their injuries, according to the release.

Curtis was cited for operating without financial responsibility, driving while suspended, driving left of center and speed too fast, according to the release.

Jack was assisted at the scene by the Berne Police, Adams County Sheriff and Decatur Police departments.
