VINCENNES — One of Indiana's top historic sites is hosting a traveling exhibit to teach Hoosiers how to properly preserve their cherished family heirlooms.

Vincennes State Historic Sites program developer Angela Lucas tells the Vincennes Sun-Commercial that historical groups all over Indiana are realizing that much of the state's history is in danger of being lost forever.

She says the upcoming "Endangered Heritage" exhibit will cover how to care for artifacts like paper products, letters, photographs, military items and quilts. The traveling instructional exhibit focuses on the humidity and temperature controls needed to preserved and adequate store artifacts for the future.

The exhibit will come Jan. 14 and Feb. 18 to Old State Bank in Vincennes, with different guest speakers at both presentations. The cost is $2 per person.
