No one was at home and no one was injured in a Friday morning fire on Lillie Street, but the house was heavily damaged.
Fort Wayne firefighters were called to 4512 Lillie St. at 11:17 a.m. They arrived 2 minutes later and had the fire under control by 11:28 a.m. Firefighters said the fire started in the front living room of the home, spread to an adjacent room and an attic and resulted in heavy fire, smoke and water damage. They are still investigating the fire to find its cause.
One house fire spotted en route from another
A Fort Wayne Fire Department crew, coming back to its station from another morning fire, happened across an apparent house fire at 633 Woodland Springs, near the intersection of Wallen and Coldwater roads. That crew called for help at 9:59 a.m. and had the fire under control by 10:07 a.m.
No one was inside at the time of the fire, and no one was hurt. The fire started on the first floor and spread into the home's attic, bringing heavy smoke and fire damage, but moderate water damage. Firefighters are still investigating.
