INDIANAPOLIS — Police shut down all lanes of Interstate 70 on the east side of Indianapolis after a crash in which a car ended up on its roof on a city street below.
The crash happened about 6 a.m. Thursday in the ramp system connecting Interstate 70 and 465 and Shadeland Avenue. WTHR-TV reports a live power line was down on Shadeland Avenue, which runs beneath I-70 and interchange ramps with I-465.
The highway shutdown has caused long traffic backups of morning commuters heading into Indianapolis.
The Indianapolis Star reports one person was killed in the crash, although details weren't immediately available.
