More than 2,000 without power in Fort Wayne

I&M expects to restore service by 10 p.m.

Indiana Michigan Power Co. says it expects to restore power to more than 2,000 customers in Fort Wayne by 10 p.m. Friday.

The outage was reported shortly before 4 p.m. Friday. It involves the area around Spring Street and Leesburg Road, according to utility spokeswoman YaVonda Ulfig.

At 5:10 p.m., the utility said 2,360 customers were without power.

Ulfig said she does not know what caused the outage, but she said it appears it resulted from "an issue with a subtransmission line."
