More than 2,000 without power in Fort Wayne

I&M expects to restore service by 10 p.m.

Friday, January 4, 2013 - 5:19 pm

Indiana Michigan Power Co. says it expects to restore power to more than 2,000 customers in Fort Wayne by 10 p.m. Friday.

The outage was reported shortly before 4 p.m. Friday. It involves the area around Spring Street and Leesburg Road, according to utility spokeswoman YaVonda Ulfig.

At 5:10 p.m., the utility said 2,360 customers were without power.

Ulfig said she does not know what caused the outage, but she said it appears it resulted from "an issue with a subtransmission line."
