The Rant is The News-Sentinel's anonymous sound-off forum. The readers' views expressed here do not necessarily reflect the views or opinions of The News-Sentinel. The elections are over and not a word is spoken about where all the mega-millions in campaign contributions came from. If the media were to carefully audit the finances you may be surprised which politicians owe the most to the richest. Or to themselves.

When will parents question why 74 percent of teachers in one school resigned/transferred/retired early from their child's school? This was all within a three-year period when a new principal was assigned to that school. Maybe the school board should check into it.

When is the city going to plow any additions? … Is this what came with being annexed?

How many times are they going to raise the wheel tax?

How long are we going to pay this food tax?

If you have not drawn any Social Security, your next of kin should get at least 1 percent of what you have paid in to pay for burial expenses … .

Are there really people in this city who are so ultra-conservatively brainwashed that they believe the Connecticut tragedy is a result of gay marriage and contraception rights? Unbelievable! No wonder the rest of the country is so bewildered by us. What an embarrassment.

IU-PU rants could unfortunately be deeper than childish actions. Criticisms and put-downs are often rooted to a deeper jealousy or self-esteem-related issue. If you don't want to pay taxes to protect schoolchildren from shootings, why pay taxes to protect the president? The children are more important.

What are our police chief and mayor doing to get assault weapons off the streets?

Why won't the new governor pass a law getting rid of the practice of declaring your party for the primary elections in Indiana? Why are they so afraid of people splitting their vote? … Give the voters a real choice.

Thirty-three killed by cough syrup in Pakistan. Where's all the outrage to ban cough syrup? Come on, people, death is death.

Dear ranter, I would love to take away the violent video games and movies from my children (and those things are not in my house) but their father feels that the violent video games and movies keep his children out of his hair when they go to visit him, so unless the courts are willing to stand up to him, my children will continue to play and watch the violent video games and movies.

I challenge my Second District councilman to drive some of the side streets in his district. Some of them you can barely drive on without chains. Where is the city help? We didn't have this problem with our last councilperson.
