Fort Wayne woman critically injured in stabbing in Tennessee

A Fort Wayne woman was critically injured in a Tennessee hospital after she was stabbed multiple times. Her New Haven boyfriend in charged in the crime, according to police.

At 2:26 p.m. Thursday, Gatlinburg Police responded to a call of a possible stabbing at Hillside Motel Apartments. There officers found Amber L. Leslie, 22, with multiple stab wounds, according to a police news release.

Leslie was airlifted to the University of Tennessee Hospital in Knoxville in critical condition. She was in serious condition Friday morning, according to the Knoxville News Sentinel.

Leslie's boyfriend, James E. Heroy III, 22, was charged with attempted second-degree murder. He remained in the Sevier County Jail in Sevierville on Saturday morning in lieu of $350,000 bond.
