Two local health video programs will air in England

Wednesday, January 9, 2013 - 12:01 am

Two nutrition video programs included in the local McMillen Center for Health Education's Healthy Families series soon will share their message with viewers in England.

The local health organization recently was contacted by Community Channel, a London-based television and Web broadcaster, which asked for permission to broadcast the two nutrition programs next week as part of a “Living It Up” series, a McMillen Center news release said.

The two programs are “Eating Out: How to Make Healthier Choices” and “A Meal in Less Time Than It Takes to Go Through the Drive-Thru,” the news release said. The Healthy Families series is designed to help parents and caregivers make healthier food choices and to help children be more active.

Community Channel focuses on broadcasting original programs by new directors and community filmmakers that inspire people to take action on important causes and issues, the news release said. Along with being broadcast on television, the channel also shows programs on www.communitychannel.org.

“Eating Out: How to Make Healthier Choices” will be broadcast Tuesday and Jan. 18, 20, 22 and 25, the news release said. “A Meal in Less Time Than It Takes to Go Through the Drive-Thru” will be shown Jan. 16, 19, 20, 23 and 26.
