Berry finished the night shooting 6-for-11 from the floor, including 5-for-7 from 3-point range, as he topped the 20-point mark for the third time in the past four games and the fourth time this season.
The Cardinals’ point guard set up teammate Majok Majok for the game-winning basket as time expired, driving the length of the floor in the final six seconds and finding Majok in the lane for a buzzer-beating dunk.
Berry, who ranks seventh in the MAC with an average of 14.3 points per game, played 36 minutes against Norfolk State without committing a turnover.
He moved into 10th place on Ball State’s career 3-pointers list with 121 and helped the Cardinals knock down 12 treys as a team, the most in a game for the program since the 2005-06 season.
This week’s award marks the third time this year a Ball State player has been named the MAC West Player of the Week.
Berry earned the honor on Nov. 12 and Majok on Dec. 10. Berry also picked up the honor once last season.
With the win over Norfolk State, Ball State completed the pre-conference portion of its schedule with a 6-6 record.
The Cardinals open MAC play on the road today at 7 p.m. game at Eastern Michigan, which will be televised by the Ball State Sports Network.
