Friday, January 11, 2013 - 11:27 am

Two more robberies at apartment complexes were reported to the Fort Wayne Police Department on Thursday night, with one of the incidents resulting in gunshots being fired.

The first incident reportedly took place around 10:12 p.m. in the 8700 block of Gulf Drive, according to a news release. A woman reported being followed into an apartment building, then forced inside a residence at gunpoint by two men. The robbers reportedly bound the hands of the residents and took several items, including a television, wallets and cellphones, according to the release.

No injuries were reported at that location.

The second incident reportedly took place around 11:33 p.m. in the 7500 block of Cold Springs Boulevard. Two men with handguns forced their way into an apartment home, then bound the hands of the three occupants inside.

The robbers reportedly took several items and were fleeing, but one of the victims freed himself, retrieved a weapon and fired upon them.

One person was reportedly kicked in the head while another was struck around the face, the release said.

No arrests have been made in these or six other incidents that were reported to police from four different apartment complexes.

The police department is encouraging apartment residents to park in well-lit areas, be vigilant and report suspicious activities and people.

The incidents are being investigated by the Fort Wayne Police Department and the Allen County Prosecutor's Office.
