Exelis has awarded Allen County Education Partnership a $500 grant to support the agency's literacy programming.
The Partnership also received $1,000 from the Ewing Trust, $2,000 from the Norfolk Southern Foundation and $2,500 from the Wells Fargo Foundation. Funds support the agency's literacy programming.
Indiana Michigan Power Company, a subsidiary of American Electric Power, awarded $2,000 to support the Allen County Education Partnership's Project READS program.
SCAN receives mittens
SCAN (Stop Child Abuse and Neglect) received approximately seven dozen pairs of children's mittens and gloves from DaVita's Fort Wayne South Dialysis Center.
Volunteers promote fire safety Saturday
The American Red Cross, Community Action of Northeast Indiana, IPFW 21st Century Scholars and MLK Montessori School will promote fire safety and preparedness in neighborhoods prone to house fires 10:13 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday.
