Thunbergia mysorensis has only bloomed once before.

While the frosty winter rages outside, the Indonesian Rain Forest's Jungle Dome retains its steamy tropical splendor. This month, several colorful orchids punctuate the lush foliage with lovely blooms.

Orchids are coaxed into bloom with extra special care by the rain forest staff. Take a look at the results of their hard work!

New Globe Trotter Program available for schools

Attention teachers: Take your students on a virtual journey around the world in the zoo's exciting new Globe Trotter multimedia program! With five live animals and a "mystery" to solve, this dynamic presentation will engage students as they learn how they can help save our planet.

Globe Trotter is perfect for school assemblies, parent nights or as a reward for special projects. We are now booking programs for spring 2013.
