SOUTH BEND — A northern Indiana coroner says a man who was struck and critically injured by a South Bend school bus in November has died from his injuries.
St. Joseph County Deputy Coroner Nancy Pemberton tells the South Bend Tribune that 59-year-old Kenneth Reynolds of South Bend died Wednesday. She ruled that Reynolds' cause of death was related to trauma sustained in the accident.
Reynolds suffered head injuries when a South Bend Community School Corp. bus struck him at an intersection as it was carrying children to LaSalle Intermediate Academy.
The school bus driver told officers she did not see Reynolds because of darkness, rain and his dark clothes.
Police said at the time that Reynolds was properly using a crosswalk when he was struck.
