TV Diary: What are TV superhero stars doing now?

“Holy Superheroes!” Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman and The Incredible Hulk on the same screen! “Superheroes” is the title of “Pioneers of Television.” It airs at 8 p.m. today on PBS, WFWA, Channel 39.1 in Fort Wayne..Tonight's episode focuses on TV superheroes. Interviewed are: Adam West, Burt Ward and Julie Newmar of “Batman,” Lynda Carter of “Wonder Woman,” Lou Ferrigno of “The Incredible Hulk” and William Katt and Robert Culp of “The Greatest American Hero.” The 1950s TV series “Superman” is also featured.

What are these stars up to nowadays?

West does a lot of voice-over work these days, portraying the mayor on “Family Guy” He also provided voice-over for “The Fairly Odd Parents” and “SpongeBob SquarePants.”

Carter had a couple of forgettable TV series, “Partners in Crime” and “Hawkeye,” but has done well in the jazz sector. Her album “At Last” peaked at No. 6 on the jazz charts in 2009, and she recently released “Crazy Little Things.”

Ferrigno is the most visible, having appeared on “Celebrity Apprentice” and “Chuck.”

Katt has enjoyed success following his stint as Ralph Hinkley/Hanley on “The Greatest American Hero.” He appeared as Paul Drake Jr. on the “Perry Mason” TV movies and completed films “The Secret Lives of Dorks,” “Sparks” and “.357.” His mother is Barbara Hale, who played Della Street on “Perry Mason.”
