Gunman pleads guilty in Fort Wayne ambulance shooting

Tuesday, January 29, 2013 - 5:08 pm

A man pleaded guilty this week to being the one who riddled an ambulance and car with bullets in September after a fight at a Fort Wayne nightclub, injuring four people.

Traneilous L. Jackson, 24, accepted a plea agreement with prosecutors on four counts of attempted murder Monday, according to documents filed in Allen Superior Court.

Under the terms of the plea deal, Jackson would serve 60 years in prison. He is scheduled to be sentenced Feb. 25.

According to court documents, Jackson opened fire Sept. 9 on an ambulance carrying a stabbing victim from Piere's nightclub, as well as on a car carrying the stabbing victim's friends.

About 16 bullets struck the ambulance, and one woman in the car was shot 10 times, according to previous court documents.
