2. Free throw edge
IU leads the nation in free throws made and attempted, and added to that total by going 19-for-20. It shot 17 in the first half (making 16) to Purdue's four.
3. Turnover battle
The Hoosiers forced nine first-half turnovers, a big reason for their 20-point halftime lead. They had just five first-half turnovers and eight for the game against 21 assists. Purdue wound up with 11 assists and 18 turnovers
4. Pounding the boards
In the first half IU had 10 offensive rebounds and 16 second-chance points. The Hoosiers finished with 18 offensive rebounds, 39 total rebounds and 24 second-chance points.
5. Make shots
Purdue shot just 36.4 percent from the field in the first half, and couldn't get to the free throw to make up for it. It was better in the first half (45.5 percent shooting, 12-for-15 from the line), but that wasn't nearly good enough given IU shot 49.3 percent for the game, 57.1 percent in the second half.
