Adams Central finishes second in wrestling regional

The Adams Central finished second to Yorktown in the Jay County Wrestling Regional on Saturday at Jay County.Yorktown won the meet with 223 points to Adams Central's 125.5. Muncie South was third with 118 and Bellmont fourth with 105.

Adams Central senior Cody Walburn improved to 38-1 in winning the 126-pound class. The Jets had three runner-ups: Derek Ellinger at 138, Kaine Luginbill at 160 and Benjamin Pfister at 182. Adams Central's Luke Liter was third at 152.

Other area winners were South Adams' Sawyer Miller at 113, South Adams' L.J. Moser at 120, Bellmont's Brad Busse at 182 and Bluffton's Brian Gerber at 220.

Bellmont's Trevor Gray was second at 106, South Adams' Klayton Hinshaw was second at 170 and South Adams' Maverick Morningstar was second at 220

Third-place finishes went to South Adams' Boaz Marbach at 138, Norwell's Grahm Smith at 145 and South Adams' Shea Pyle at 160.
