SULPHUR — A southern Indiana sheriff says an overnight mobile home fire believed started by a wood stove has killed five people in a small Ohio River town.

Crawford County Sheriff Tim Wilkerson tells WDRB-TV three adults and two children died in early Thursday's fire near the town of Sulphur about 30 miles west of Louisville, Ky.

Wilkerson says two half-brothers and a girlfriend of one of the men died along with the 8-year-old daughter of one of the brothers and the woman's 3-year-old son. He broke the tragic news to about 10 of the victims' relatives by gathering them in a circle with a chaplain.

County Emergency Management Director Larry Allen says everyone in the home died in the fire.

Fire officials believe a wood stove started the fire.
