Fort Wayne returns to action on Friday at coliseum

Thursday, February 7, 2013 - 1:44 am

Too many turnovers and too big a deficit turned into a home loss for the Mad Ants.

Sioux Falls built a 21-point lead and held off a late rally to beat the Ants 106-99 on Wednesday at Memorial Coliseum.

Fort Wayne had no answer for Sioux Falls guard Donald Sloan, who scored 19 points with 10 assists, seven rebounds and five steals. Demetris Nichols led Sioux Falls (17-11) with 22 points.

The Ants (14-16) committed 25 turnovers. Tony Mitchell led the team with 27 points and eight rebounds. Ron Howard scored 20 points, but had 10 turnovers. Anthony Harris added 13. Mad Ants forward Luke Harangody, who was hobbling at the end of a win on Monday, did not play.

Fort Wayne plays Rio Grande Valley at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the coliseum.
