A strong second half boosted Indiana Tech to its 20th men's basketball victory of the season, as the Warriors pulled away from Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference foe Marygrove 70-56 on Wednesday in the Ford Field House. The win gave Indiana Tech its third consecutive 20-win season in coach Al Grushkin's three-year tenure.

Jordan Hickman matched his career-high with 20 points in the victory, as he scored 14 in the second half.

The Warriors outscored the host Mustangs 41-29 over the final 20 minutes.

Marygrove (3-24, 3-16 WHAC) kept pace with the Warriors in the first half, never trailing by more than six. With the score tied in the closing seconds of the period, Indiana Tech's Melvin Brooks rejected a jumper and found Hickman for the dunk to give Ithe Warriors a 29-27 lead at halftime.

Indiana Tech (20-7, 13-6) took over though in the second stanza, shooting 56 percent from the floor while the defense dug in and held Marygrove to 29 percent, including a 2-for-14 mark from behind the three-point line.

Holding a two point edge early in the second half, Jeff Hoskins scored off a turnover to start a 9-0 Warrior run that ballooned the lead to double digits, 46-35. The margin continued to grow, increasing to as much as 21 following a jumper by Antonio Cannon at the 3:51 mark, as the Warriors bounced back from a tough loss to Lourdes University over the weekend.

On the night, the Warriors shot 46 percent and held Marygrove to 29 percent. Indiana Tech, one of the nation's best defenses against the three, limited the Mustangs to just 5-for-24 from long range.

Hickman added to his career night with a new high in rebounds, hauling in 11 boards to register his first double-double of the season.
