Executed search warrant leads to Fort Wayne man's arrest, charges

An executed search warrant Friday morning led to the arrest of a man who now faces multiple felony charges.

Officers from the Fort Wayne Police Department's Vice & Narcotics division, as well as members of the FWPD's SWAT team and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, executed the warrant at 8:40 a.m. in the 2400 block of Lafayette Street, according to a news release.

The release said narcotics detectives obtained the warrant as a result of an ongoing investigation into marijuana sales at the residence, according to the release.

Zestolavant Cook, 34, was allegedly inside the residence, the release said. He was arrested and charged with Class C felony possession of cocaine, Class C felony dealing of marijuana within 1,000 feet of a public park, Class D felony maintaining of a common nuisance, Class D felony possession of marijuana, and four counts of Class D felony dealing of marijuana.

Cook also was charged with a probation violation.

The release said that two guns, marijuana, cocaine, scales and other paraphernalia were found during the search of the residence, and that bond had not been set for Cook.
