Friday, February 8, 2013 - 3:37 pm

Notre Dame tight end Tyler Eifert and linebacker Manti Te'o headline a group of 11 players from Indiana colleges invited to the NFL Combine later this month in Indianapolis.

Eifert, a Bishop Dwenger High School alum, and Te'o are projected as possible first-round picks in the NFL Draft April 25-27.

The combine is the next step to impressing NFL scouts and coaches, and will take place Feb. 20-26 at Lucas Oil Stadium.

Other players from Notre Dame invited to the combine are: center Braxston Cave, defensive end Kapron Lewis-Moore, defensive backs Zeke Motta and Jamoris Slaughter and running back Theo Riddick and Cierre Wood. Slaughter has applied for a sixth year of eligibility at Notre Dame, so he might not participate. Slaughter and Lewis-Moore are both rehabilitating from injuries suffered during the season.

The others players from Indiana invited to the combine are Purdue defensive lineman Kawaan “K.K.” Short and defensive back Jay Jay Johnson and Ball State kicker Scott Kovanda.
